Shahid Rajaei Power Plant (Qazvin, 25 km from Qazvin-Karaj Freeway), is one of the power plants in Iran that includes steam and combined cycle power plants with a total production capacity of 2042 MW. The steam power plant consists of four 250 MW units with a 1000 MW production capacity manufactured by Mitsubishi, and the combined cycle power plant consists of six 123.4 MW gas units manufactured by GEC Alstom and three 100.6 MW steam units manufactured by Siemens on a land area of 343 hectares. The construction of the Shahid Rajaei steam power plant began in 1983. Initially, the power plant consisted of four 250 MW units, the first unit of which was put into operation in November 1992, and the other three units were put into operation at intervals of 6 months each. The gas units of the combined cycle power plant were commissioned between August 1994 and July 1995, and the steam units of the combined cycle power plant were connected to the national grid between June and February 2001.
