Manjil Wind Power Plant

Manjil is one of the cities in Gilan province and is known as the city of wind turbines in Iran. Manjil wind power plant is the famous name among the wind power plants in Iran. This power plant converts the kinetic energy of the wind into electrical energy. This plant has 171 wind turbines, which are made of three blades with a length of approximately 17 to 23 meters (rotor diameter 35 to 47 meters) and convert the kinetic energy of the wind into electrical energy by generators located behind the blades. Wind farms are actually power plants where wind power is used instead of fossil fuels and this is a great advantage for each country to use sustainable energy instead of non-renewable resources. Manjil wind turbines are not only one of the largest sources of clean energy production, but also give a special reputation and beauty to this city. Due to the existence of these turbines and also the Sefidrud Dam, this city is known as the commercial center of Gilan province.
